Doug had the day off and we both needed to squeeze a certain cute little baby so decided to take a trip to Murray today. Derek was spending the morning at the U of U defending his master's thesis to his committee. We decided that we wanted to take Derek and Shelby to lunch to celebrate all his hard work and Shelby's support of him. We'd heard of Silicia Mia from Brad and Jenny, Derek and Shelby so decided to have lunch there. Oh my! It was wonderful. It's just a small cafe in a strip mall next to a grocery store but the food was amazing. It was nice to sit and visit and enjoy a great meal together. Derek's presentation went well and his committee gave him great feedback so he was relieved, excited and grateful.
After lunch we went to Murray to tend Zoë while the kids went to a movie. She napped for a while and then woke up and we enjoyed feeding her and playing with her. She's such a happy baby and smiles all the time. I wish we could see her more often but have to be content that they're as close as they are. By this time next year they'll be getting ready for a move somewhere (Derek's hoping for Yale) and our visits will be few and far between. I'm already sad thinking about that!
