The living room always looks a little bare after the Christmas decorations are put away.
There are sunflowers and pumpkins in September.
Pumpkins, owls, ghosts and bats in October.
Pilgrims and pumpkins in November.
Nutcrackers and nativities in December.
And then January comes and the room is a bit bare.
I decided it needed some color.
I actually started the afghan almost two years ago. I remember working on it on the plane to Seattle and also in our bed and breakfast in the evenings while there.
I decided that blue would be the default accent color for the months when I wasn't decorating for a specific holiday or season.
I also decided that January means snowflakes.
I started the table runner last January on a particularly snowy day.
Somehow it seemed appropriate to be playing with snowflake fabrics that day.
My good friend made me another twister mini quilt.
It fits perfectly with the blue/snowflake theme!
