2021

It’s been over a year since I’ve written. I have lots of reasons and many excuses but none of those change the fact that I let myself down. I’ll do better this year I hope. Even when life is hard (2020 was HARD) I know it’s important to document events, feelings, emotions, news, etc. I sometimes enjoy going back and reading old journal entries and sometimes I cringe when reading old journal entries but nevertheless they are what I was feeling/experiencing at the time. My children and grandchildren may read my words some day and I hope that they gain a better understanding of who their mom and grandma was: an imperfect but loving being who mostly tried hard but sometimes got lazy. My goal for 2021 is simply to try harder. As I go forward this year I’ll undoubtedly write about things that have happened during the great void when I didn’t document anything. I hope to include pictures of beloved grandchildren, sons and daughters in law, projects completed in the past and hopes for the future.

Today’s picture is of my latest completed project. I bought the kit for this quilt over 10 years ago and finally made it, finishing it at 10PM on New Year’s Eve. It took 10 days start to finish which made me feel bad that I put it off for 10 years! At any rate it’s done, hanging on the wall, and I love it!
