What a wonderful world!

I took my camera for a walk yesterday morning.
I left the house without it but made a U-turn almost immediately.

It had been very foggy during the night and early morning but then the fog lifted and
left the beautiful hoar frost behind covering every surface.

I was reminded of yet another poem learned in childhood.

FOG

The fog comes on
little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

-Carl Sandburg-

As I walked along glorying in the crisp air I began to sing to myself

"I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world."

Sometimes it's easy for me to forget to pause and look around at the beauty that surrounds me all the time, no matter the season.
I'm glad I took the time yesterday to stop and look.
