We just returned from a wonderful, but all too brief, getaway to Seattle.
So many sights and sounds and wonderful foods to take in.
We loved the gorgeous rhododendrons.
We don't see sights like this in our desert state.
A secluded beach on Whidbey Island was a wonderful place for a picnic.
Of course, I had to hit a few quilt shops while in the area. I found a great quilt/embroidery pattern of the well known sites on Whidbey Island. The pictures were drawn by a local high school student.
I found another great wall quilt pattern to make as a memento of our trip. I never would have purchased the pattern if I hadn't seen the shop's (Esther's Fabrics on Bainbridge Island) version of it on their wall.
It's amazing to me how color changes can change the whole mood of a project. I'm not a fan of the orange but love the deep greens and browns in their version. I bought the blue fabric that they used for the background. I'll pull the rest of the fabrics from my stash.
I also found some great pieces for my "I Spy" quilt along with another pattern.
